Interesting License Issues with H.264
I know a lot of you guys are film makers, hobbyists or aspiring directors, so this little piece of info about the use of H.264 and the legal use of its license might interest you.

From this article:
A lot of commercial software comes with H.264 encoders and decoders, and some computers arrive with this software preinstalled. This leads a lot of people to believe that they can legally view and create H.264 videos for whatever purpose they like. Unfortunately for them, it ain’t so.

In the last while H.264 has become standard use for web video, the way DivX was a few years ago, and I'm sure there will be something new in the codec world in the next 2 years that will replace this, as is pointed out in this Slashdot article, but I thought you still might like to know the implications of encoding your video with H.264 for now.
