What are some of the worst movies you have ever seen? And I don't just mean bad the way most romantic comedies are bad, or subject matter can be bad/stupid. I'm talking about the worst of the worst. The movies that fail at even the most basic level film-making.

I bring this up because I was just discussing a movie that I watched a couple of weeks ago which was the worst movie that I've seen in years: Boondock Saints 2. This movie failed at absolutely everything. This movie's got a 22% on rotten tomatoes, and I am shocked at how high that is! The only explanation I can come up with for this is that those critics loved the first movie too much to give a fail to its sequel. I would give it a half-star at best.

Nothing about this movie was any good at all. The writing sounded like it was written by a 14-year-old; the acting was completely ridiculous; and the editing was all over the place. The only thing about it that had any value to me was that part of it was filmed at a bar that I've been to. Whoop-dee-doo.

Seriously, the worst movie I have seen since Starship troopers 2 - and maybe even worse than that!

I thought I might have been able to enjoy Universal Soldier 4 cause VanDamm and Dolph Lungren are in it again, but it's pretty bad. The fight scenes in the first half hour just seem odd, and of course no one would expect a great story or acting, but still. It's no the worst ever, but a bad one that's fresh in my mind.

GIJoe was bad

But the worst movie I have seen in a while was Miss March. I figured it might be one of those dumb comedies that was dumb but you had a laugh or two somewhere or the unnecessary nudity would make up for it or something, but it was horrendous.

I'd be curious to see how Boondock Saints 2 compares to those... it's probably still worse though. I mean, to fail at even basic editing is pretty damn bad.

Oh, another terrible one I saw recently was Ninja Assassin. I saw it with a buddy in the theatre because we the restaurant we were going to eat at had an hour-long wait. At least it was somewhat coherent, even if the story made absolutely no sense, the acting was bad, and all of the blood was CG (seriously - it was so cheesy).

I saw it when I was visiting some friends at Brown. It was their finals week, and they needed some mindless fun. It was spectacularly terrible, but still spectacular.

Which? Ninja Assassin or Boondock Saints 2?

Whoops, Ninja Assassin. Boondock was disappointing, yeah, but I don't know if I'll harbor as much hatred as you do about it.

Really? You didn't think it was that bad? Not the dumb writing? Or the awful acting? Or the incoherent editing?

Yeah I was going to say after looking at the title of this thread. Boondock Saints 2 was the worst. I'd recently saw it, and constantly considered turning it off... Which is pretty bad.

Other movies that are terrible- Anything by Lynch, as his movies are basically dream sequences by first year film students lined up in a row.

Johnny Pnemonic is another bad one, but it's a cult classic. And I dig it for it's total B-movieness.

Anything that has anything to do with Seth Rogan is pretty terrible as well.
Pluto Nash, Kazaam- both set African Americans back 50 years or so.

Santa Clause Conquers the Martians, pretty much self explanatory.

Battlefield: Earth. This movie is important because there is no movie worse then it. There is a gauge to how bad a movie is. And it's pretty bad.

I watched it on a whim before going to bed on a late night, so I really couldn't care less about how terrible it was. The editing was probably as incoherent as my mental state.

I wasn't a fan of the new sidekick, but watching the characters dance around each other before they finally figured out that they were on the same side was sorta fun. That, and the shout-outs and references to the last movie and the Rocco dream sequence was pretty cool, too.
